My lost bet
"My bet is on UE this year, sorry. BUT if we have the chance, I still believe we can fight with them till the end and then just maybe"
That's a direct quote from my previous entry. Well, who would have guessed!? We are back at #1!!! What a storybook comeback it is! It's not that I changed sides or anything, I still bleed green y'know. Really, hands down to the UE Red Warriors. They had a historic eliminations (and on a sour note, historic UAAP season as 1st ever 14-0 sweeper and a 0-2 loser. lol) and not to take away anything from them, they also won experience for next year's season. Did the final four comeback and haunted them again? I mean, final four was their bad luck. They could not win a series (just in recent times) and now they skipped the final four...don't they just wish they played in the final four? Let's face it. They lost their competitive edge, their hunger, their drive and their confidence. Once an unbeaten team faces a defeat, it is really hard to get that confidence back up. Take into account the timing of their first loss. 1st game of the Championships and at the back of their minds, its do or die the next game. Sometimes, you really got to loose in order to win :)
ANIMO LA SALLE!!!
Congratulations to the De La Salle Green Archers for winning the 70th Men's Senior's Basketball Championship! This one's for keeps! What a storybook comeback. Winning the pre-season tournaments, loosing Marco for the year due to injury, loosing Brian Ilad due to his on court antics, beating Ateneo just two out of three times in one season to advance to the finals and of course, defying the odds and winning two straight games against the unbeaten UE Red Warriors. Congratulations!
On the other side of things and as a part of the La Sallian community, I would like to thank the NU Bulldogs for Beating the Ateneo Blue Eagles in that very important game. Thank you also Ateneo Blue Eagles for the unforgettable five game series. To Cholo Villanueva, the one they salute when he joins their practices (haha!) for bringing your A game to both the clincher games. To JV Casio, you are our MVP. To Rico, for keeping your head in the game and making the ultimate sacrifice in playing with one foot, to rust for siding with the UE Red Warriors (lol), to experience the most important arsenal the team had, to TY Tang who is always the first Archer during practices...thank you for your leadership. We doubted you when you were a rookie, now as the team captain, everyone depended on you and you did not fail us...and to the De La Salle Green Archer's community...ANIMO!!! oh and also congrats to Manny! haha he should have picked Ara Mina instead of Kyla to sing. Why? because Ara Mina needs no practice and teaching to sing the national anthem...wahahaha!!!
