My rant and rig

not quite the cliché I was looking for...

My rant = La Salle lost today. It was Déjà vu and/or a bad dream for the De La Salle Green Archers today...and it's live to fight another day for the fierce Ateneo Blue Eagles. Congratulations to them for winning a sloppy game. For those of you who watched the game, it was like reliving the last few minutes choke of DLSU vs UST when Ateneo had the 7-0 run at the end or was it the haunting free throw that JV Casio missed during the second UE-DLSU game? Yes JV Casio missed a free throw late in the game that could have added 1 point in DLSU's final score to tie the game. What else could go wrong this year for the team? Suspension of Brian Ilad, Injury to Marco Batricevik, possible first loss of Coach Franz in going to the finals when his team has the twice to beat advantage? (he is 7-0), not winning the championship? (My bet is on UE this year, sorry. BUT if we have the chance, I still believe we can fight with them till the end and then just maybe)...tell me, what else could go wrong!? :P

My Rig = 8800GTS baby! sweet! Crysis, NFS and Hellgate: London...I'm waiting :D

My early morning treat

I just got home from work and it was my time to eat breakfast and I was in for a treat! I remember telling everyone here that the whole Cinnabon roll was mine...and there it was. Still fresh and in the box. Damn! I am in for a morning sugar rush! So I heated it in the oven and there it was in front of me. When I took the first bite all I can say is "Holy WOW!". I miss eating this stuff and by God the first bite was really heavenly. Thank you little sis for taking home a box and belated Happy Birthday to you! :) So right now I have a dilemma...now I can't sleep! haha. But seriously, Cinnabon makes the best cinnamon rolls! so what are you waiting for!? visit the nearest Cinnabon store and buy one for yourself also :P

My top 5's

This is my biased (lol!) rendition of Steve Kerr’s top 5 winners and losers of the eliminations of the UAAP Men’s Seniors Basketball tournament. Have fun reading! :P

Top 5 Winners:

1. Coach Dindo Pumaren and the UE Red Warriors. Enough said they have done the rare 14-game sweep of the eliminations. Congratulations to them.
2. The DLSU Green Archers. After loosing two straight games to Ateneo, we finally won the most important game of the elimination round. We’re number 2 baby!
3. Marnel Baracael of the FEU Tamaraws. This kid will be great next season. I like his game. He’s got the inside moves and the outside stroke. Watch out for the Tam’s next season. Will he be the next Arwind Santos?
4. Jervy Cruz of the UST Growling Tigers. Only in his second season and dominating the paint already averaging a double-double in points and rebounds for the season. This guy is the Tim Duncan of the UAAP. No fancy moves, no on-court antics, just plain basketball skills.
5. Ateneo and La Salle fans (and the scalpers!) because we were treated to a classic three game series only in the eliminations with a possible five game series at hand, if Ateneo wins its next two games. School pride aside, we were all treated to three incredible games. That’s how they miss each other J.

Top 5 Losers:

1. Brian Ilad. What in the hell are you thinking!? by throwing a punch from behind to Fampulme. You did not only help the streaking punching antics of DLSU (remember the punch to Arwind Santos? Lol), you also helped yourself out of the tournament. What a way to complete your last and rookie year. I was watching this guy during practices and he really has a lot of potential. Too bad a simple mental lapse can take it all away.
2. Coach Normal Black and the Ateneo Blue Eagles. Loosing to arch rivals DLSU in the most important game of the season so far for them. Tough luck but the law of averages caught up with them this time around. Good luck facing the defending champs in the knockout game J
3. Coach Joe Lipa and the UP Fighting Maroons. Even the hand of God can’t help those young kids win at least a basketball game. Better luck next year! Good thing you guys won the cheering competition.
4. Coach Bogs Adornado and Patrick Cabahug. After making it to the final four last year, it was a different story this year. This team lacks cohesiveness and teamwork. They are in fact a good team with Patrick Cabahug and Roel Hugnatan 1-2 punch but they really lack the team spirit and the will? Happy graduation Patrick Cabahug.
5. The NU Bulldogs. This team also has the pieces but they also lack the team spirit. A good point guard in Jonathan Jahnke, a decent shooter in Jonathan Fernandez and a very good forward in Edwin Asoro. They failed to make the final four but hey, thanks for beating Ateneo.

My uaap pick!

I am writing this both as a La Salle faithful and a basketball fan...

Hands down...my pick to be 2007 UAAP champs (in basketball) are the UE Red Warriors! No doubt they are the best team to come out of the gates this season. With no legitimate superstar, no ego's and no selfish players, they really captivated the essence of a good basketball team. With defense and team play as their best weapons, they beat everyone. As they say, six have tried (twice!) and six have failed. It is really their time to shine. I don't care if they face Ateneo or DLSU in the finals, they really deserve to win it all this year!
Now hold your horses DLSU fans, we still got a crack at being #2! let's just hope Jonathan Fernandez, Edwin Asoro, and the rest of the Bulldogs unleash hell on Ateneo this Saturday to set up a DLSU vs. Ateneo tiebreaker match to determine whose #2 and who will have the twice to beat advantage this year.

GO LA SALLE!!!

And as for Mr. Brian Ilad...Well, I'm just glad that this rookie (in his final year. yes he is on his final year already due to the previous 4 years played in other collegiate basketball) will be out next year. As for JV Casio, can't say enough for this guy. Don't blame him for the losses because this guy is always there for us. Tough that he fell short in some games...so what!? he is still the MVP for our team this year! As for RICO , grow up! lol! and as for our team captain, you did your best. Hat's off to you, T.Y.
